SCM_Tr5.1 – Task Management with IBM Jazz EWM 7.x

Targeted audience

This course is intended for project members using IBM® EWM™ for change and activity management with Work Items on system or/and software development projects.

Training objectives

the objectives of this training are :

  • To understand and manage defects et change requests at any phase of the process
  • To understand and create Dashboards to manage the changes

Targeted skills

Upon completion of this training, the participant will be able to :

  • Identify different types of Work Items
  • Create and update Work Items
  • Change the status of Work Items
  • Create and perform Queries on Work Items
  • Schedule Work Items for each phase of the project
  • Save and compare periodically the progress of planned tasks
  • Generate reports

Duration

1 day, divided into 11 modules (the program can be adapted to the technological context and level of knowledge of the trainees).

  • The training can be assured in person or remotely
  • The training can take place on an inter-company or intra-company basis

  • Use ELM tools and know how they interact with EWM

Module 2 : EWM

  • Use EWM for Task Management
  • Present the web interface of EWM

Module 3 : Project Area

  • Understand the concepts of Project Area and Team Area
  • Navigate through the Project Areas

Module 4 : Work Items

  • Learn how to work with Project Timelines and Iterations
  • Identify Project Timelines and Iterations as current

Module 9 : Planification des Work Items et Suivi de planning

Day 1

Objectives of the module :

  • Learn how to work with Timelines and Iterations
  • Create plans in EWM
  • Manage Work Items in a plan
  • Use Views in order to display progress on the plan
  • Use Snapshots in order to freeze the state of the plan

Module 10 : Organisation of Work Items

Objectives of the module :

  • Organise the structure of Work Items
  • Use Work Items child of
  • Use Work Items Feature / Business Need

Module 11 : Use of reports

Day 1

Objectives of the module :

  • Generate reports
  • Use JazzTM reports to display the progress of your Team or Project

Training, technical and supervisory resources

Each course module will be covered in a hands-on exercise that will be performed via a remote ELM server provided and installed by ABlogiX. Each participant will have a computer already installed to access the ELM server.

Training support will be provided for each module and will be presented via a video projector or large screen. A whiteboard or interactive whiteboard should be provided with pens.

The training is facilitated by a consultant-trainer, which allows participants to benefit from his field experience.
